The AAIP Rural Entrepreneur Stream is a pathway for experienced entrepreneurs to establish or purchase businesses in Alberta’s rural communities, contributing to local economic growth while securing Canadian permanent residency.
Obtain a Community Support Letter
Obtain a provincial work permit supporting letter
Obtain Work Permit
Operate the proposed business for at least one year
Eligibility Criteria
Business Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a business owner/manager or 4 years as a senior manager in the past 10 years.
Education: High school diploma equivalent to Canadian standards, verified by an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA).
Net Worth: A minimum personal net worth of CAD 300,000.
Language: Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 in English or French.
Investment: At least CAD 100,000 investment into a new or existing business in a rural Alberta community.
Community Support: Obtain a Community Support Letter from a participating rural community.
Job Creation: Create at least one full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident (excluding relatives).em
